Bangladesh screening films by Iranian women filmmakers

The 18th edition of the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh has been screening a lineup of films by Iranian female filmmakers.

The Bangladeshi event is screening ‘Patio’ by Maryam Bahrololoumi, ‘Driving Lessons’ by Marzieh Riahi, ‘The End of a Doll’s Dream’ by Mahboub Molaee and ‘My Paintings Have No Color’ by Hediyeh Khosravi at its Woman Filmmaker section.

‘The End of a Doll’s Dream’ is a 2-minute film about forced marriage of a little girl. Ariana Hassanzadeh and Samyar Fallahpour are among its cast members.

‘My Paintings Have No Color’ is a 5-minute film about child abuse or child maltreatment. Sana Habibpour is its main actress.

‘The Feast of the Goat’ by Saeed Zamanian, ‘Finding Farideh’ by Azadeh Mousavi and Kourosh Ataee, ‘Elephantbird’ by Amir-Masoud Soheili, ‘Oath’ by Mohsen Tanabandeh, ‘Beloved’ by Yasser Talebi, ‘Axing’ by Behrouz Shoeibi, ‘Takhti, the World Champion’ by Bahram Tavakkoli, ‘Castle of Dreams’ by Reza Mirkarimi, ‘A Man without a Shadow’ by Alireza Raeesian, ‘23 People’ by Mehdi Jafari, ‘Wedding of Zinat’s Son’ by Farhad Varahram, as well as ‘Talla’ by Parviz Shahbazi are among the other Iranian titles at the Dhaka event.

Since 1977, the Dhaka fest has been promoting a healthy culture in the film industry in Bangladesh with the main theme of “Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society.”

This 18th edition of the event has been slated for January 11-19, 2020.
